Terms of Service — LessonStudio

1. Who we are

LessonStudio (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides lesson scheduling and student billing software for private teachers.

2. What the service is

LessonStudio is an online application that helps teachers manage lessons, calendars, homework status, student rosters, and prepaid student balances. Students invited by a teacher can view their schedule, homework, and billing in a separate portal.

The marketing website describes the service; the application at https://app.lessonstudio.org is where you use it. Use of LessonStudio is also governed by our Privacy Policy (https://lessonstudio.org/privacy).

3. Accounts

Teachers may register when teacher registration is enabled. You must provide accurate information and keep your email address current.

You must meet the minimum age required to use online services where you live. If you register on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.

Students are added by their teacher and may receive an invitation to sign in. Students do not self-register independently.

Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email. There are no passwords to create or reset through LessonStudio.

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for unlawful purposes
• Upload harmful, abusive, or infringing content
• Attempt to access data or accounts that are not yours
• Interfere with or disrupt the service (including automated scraping or abuse)
• Misrepresent your identity or relationship to students

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, prolonged inactivity, or if we discontinue the service.

5. Teacher and student relationship

Teachers using LessonStudio are independent of us. You are responsible for your teaching relationship with your students, including lesson terms, fees, and any obligations toward minors or data protection in your jurisdiction.

We provide software tools only — we are not a party to your lessons or payment arrangements with students.

6. Subscriptions and beta

LessonStudio may be offered during a beta period with full or limited functionality at no charge or at a stated price. Beta features, limits, and availability may change without notice.

When paid plans are introduced, we will publish pricing and billing terms. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of updated terms, or we will ask you to agree explicitly where required.

7. Wallets and payments

Student prepaid balances are recorded in the application to help teachers track deposits and lesson charges. LessonStudio is not a bank, payment processor, or escrow service unless we explicitly state otherwise in a separate agreement.

Teachers are responsible for actual money transfers with their students outside or alongside the application. Wallet balances in the app reflect what the teacher records.

8. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (comments, attachments, roster information). You are responsible for having the right to share that content. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display it solely to operate the service for you and your invited students.

9. Our intellectual property

LessonStudio, its name, branding, and software are our property or our licensors’. These terms do not grant you rights to our trademarks or source code.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, limit, or discontinue features over time. Teaching outcomes, student attendance, and financial results are your responsibility.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or zero if you used the service only during a free beta period.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the current version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-app notice where appropriate.
